We were asked to support an exclusive product preview at the British Ambassador’s residence in Paris, showcasing two pre-launch vehicles to be showcased in an exclusive preview the day before the Paris Motor Show.

This required the design and installation of an outdoor structure in the grassed courtyard of a Grade-II listed residence in the centre of Paris, with lighting and audio to support a presentation by the British Ambassador and the CEO of Jaguar Land Rover.

The structure needed to display the product in a striking and bespoke style. To achieve this, Optimum had to liaise with a high-security and listed venue to deliver the project on time and to the satisfaction of all.

Delivery

The delivery of this project involved using a temporary structure, then designing and manufacturing custom parts to remove the existing cross-bracing (which would have obscured sight lines). Careful liaison between the supplier of the temporary structure and our design and metalworkers was key here – the structural cross-bracing had to be removed without in any way compromising the integrity of the structure.

A detailed project plan was drawn up and a budget agreed with the client.

Suppliers were chosen from our pool of trusted project partners and regular meetings were scheduled to ensure that we adhered to the initial brief.

An installation plan was created to ensure that all key delivery points were met. Key on this project was the security of the embassy and the protection of its historic buildings, not least during the transfer of equipment across 100m of lawn via temporary protective matting.

After a successful event, the venue was handed back without incident.

Working outdoors in Paris in September, the fantastic weather certainly helped, one thing you can’t guarantee, no matter how much pre-production you do!
